1997 '1860 VINES' SHIRAZ

Blackberry, spice, red berry and truffles twist and turn aorund a nose and palate of much finesse. New and older French oak contribute their own subtle spice and support alonside a backbone of fine grained tannins.

A richly flavoured backbone of dark cherry and red berry fruits mesh seamlessly with dried herb, savoury and truffle flavours. Time spent in both new and older French oak adds texture, spice and cedar notes. The tannins are fine grained, the finish prodigiously long.

Fragrant nose of bright red berries mingles with spice, tea leaf and truffle aromas with a velvety palate of dark cherry and plum fruits alongside warm eather and black olive characters. Further complexity to be realised if cellared.

2013 TAHBILK SHIRAZ MAGNUM

Showing some developing characters of older Marsanne, lemon and pear fruit from it youthful acidity but some textural minerlity from it bottle age. There is still some time for it to mature, one for the cellar.

Tightly woven nose and palate of ginger spice, nashi fruit, lime and citrus notes with a steely and mineral edged acid line, tell-tale honeysuckle and toast characters in the background are indicating the additional complexity that will coming with further cellaring

MAGNUM 2019 TAHBILK MARSANNE

Matured in a combination of older French and American oak in the traditional Tahbilk style, this wine delivers rich dark berry, plum and peppery Shiraz flavours with hints of floral and apricot tones, characteristic of Viognier.

Rustic and savoury nose and palate of dark fruits and spice with hints of tobacco and black pepper. The tannins are fine and persistent.

Plum and berry notes both on the nose and the palate, a delicious lingering finish filled with spice notes as well as a hint of leather.

Great balance between the savoury earthy tones and the rich berry and plum fruit of shiraz. The backbone of grippy tannins rounds out this elegant medium bodied Shiraz.

Lifted plum and dark fruits with savoury, peper and warm earthy notes, finishing with a backbone of fine, sinewy tannins.

Restrained notes of honeysuckle, ginger and dried tangerine peel on top of slight citric fruit characters. The first impact of the palate is the strong acidic backbone which is prominent on the mid-palate and finishes strongly.

Expressive spice, anise and black pepper character with rich blackberry, plum and mulberry fruits. Supple and savoury, dry tannins to support extended time in bottle.

Gold yellow in colour, an intense bouquet of floral and citrus, with honey suckle on the palate with a lasting lifted finish

Savoury and fleshy red berry fruits, juicy and earthy on the palate with a floral and dried herb undertone throughout the nose and palate.

Deliciously textural, the richness and palate weight of the Roussanne, combined with the honeysuckle and mineral chalkiness of the Marsanne and fleshy, floral apricot and rose petal Viognier notes are refreshed with a bright lift of acidity on the finish.

A richly flavoured palate of citrus, lemon curd, honeysuckle and ginger hints is graced with a strong acid backbone delivering most of that flavour straight over the tongue and down the throat.

Showing bottle-age complexity of ripe citrus, honey-suckle and some elegant minerality. The finish is long with some lingering youthful acidity.

2016 TAHBILK SHIRAZ

Fruit driven palate full of plum, blackberry all backed by an earthy savouriness. The tannins are subtle but lead to a graceful, defined finish.

Fresh and zesty lemon and lime, pear and guava fruits alongside apple blossom and jasmine aromas. Savoury and mineral touches on the palate.

Showing both youthful and complex characters that come with age, grapefruit and toasty aromas with ripe citrus, stone fruit and melon flavours on the palate. A mellow acidity providing a long and refreshing finish.

2018 TAHBILK SHIRAZ

Stylish, savoury and dry with lifted and spicy with vibrant red berry, musk and cherry fruits that sit deliciously on a lively finish graced with fresh grape acidity.

Grapefruit zest and citrus floral aromas that follow to a lively mineral palate of pear, Granny smith apple and lemon and lime acidity driven finish.

Rich, with elegant and supple tannins, this is a blend of cool-climate spicy Shiraz combined with mild climate full-bodied Shiraz, plumped with ripe rich red fruits. Dark berry fruit flavours are abundant on the palate finishing with excellent length.

Lifted floral, citrus and tropical fruits are further enlivened by a bright mineral acidity that refreshes now and will support development of classic honeysuckle and toasty, marmalade characters.

Lifted bright jasmine and lemon scents on a juicy palate of tropical and citrys fruits underscored by a tuat minerality. This is wine to both enjoy now or one for the cellar.
