Mahogany colour with olive green tinges. Unmistakably Muscat with those raisin aromas and nutty rancio characters. On the palate it is rich, sweet raisin fruit, and an almost treacle-like consistency with complexity of flavours from decades in old oak casks.

This very old and rare Tawny was carefully nurtured at Tahbilk from 1992 to 2004, on behalf of Seabrook Wine Merchants who had originally purchased from premium Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale wineries with the intent to mature, blend.

Deep amber colour is the first indication of great age. The bouquet is of marinated Christmas cake fruits; dates and figs. The palate is rich and long, long, long. Nutty rancio characters dominate backed up by the figs and dates, then at the end a hint of green tea cleans the palate to that long, dry finish.

Aromas of rose petal, orange peel and raisins. The palate is concentrated, richly flavoured and deliciously sweet, with fruitcake, butterscotch, coffee and chocolate flavours.

The nose exhibits distinguished aromas of walnut and prune with a complex mix of dried fruits. The palate is deeply flavoured and concentrated with characteristic caramel, toffee, walnut and fruitcake flavours

Delicate floral, warm earth and spice aromas with a fresh and expressive palate of dark plum, strawberry and candied fruit characters.

Offering lush tropical and citrus marmalade characters with sweet honeysuckle touches; a fresh and mineral-like grape acidity on the finish allows the delightful sweetness to shine through without being cloying.

Rich citrus marmalade and honeysuckle characters along with a bright, cleansing minerality and a long, stylish finish complete this wine.
